FAQ

Do I need a health card ?

No , we do not require any kind of identification or insurance to be treated at the clinic .

Can I get prescriptions / birth control without insurance or OHIP ?

Yes , we can prescribe your medication. Depending on your eligibility , we may also have funds to cover your medication .

I need counselling but I can't afford it ?

Depending on your eligibility , we can help you with applying to subsidies that cover up to $2000 worth of counselling .

Will there be other people present at the clinic during my appointment ?

We rarely have more than two (2) people in the clinic at a time. However , accommodations can be made for only one patient to be present at a time .

Do I need a referral from a doctor / health care provider?

No , we do not require a referral to be seen. You can simply make an appointment or contact us if you have any questions.

Can you be my "family doctor" ?

Yes , we are currently accepting clients as full time patients and can arrange for medical histories to be transferred from previous family doctors .

Can you help me find shelter , food or transportation ?

Yes , we have case managers that are able to assist in finding and securing subsidies for housing, food and transportation .

Can I have a sexual assault kit completed here ?

No , unfortunately sexual assault kits are not completed at the clinic at this time .

I need lab work done , but I don't have a health card ?

We can cover the cost of lab work for patients who do not have a health card .

I am a health care provider looking to refer a patient ?

For a copy of our referrals form , please visit our referrals page . If you would like to discuss a patient or have questions , please contact us .

Can you refer me to a specialist ?

Yes , after an evaluation, a referral to a specialist can be made if necessary .

Can I bring a support person ?

Yes , support persons and social workers are welcome, however, part of the appointment is spent with only the client and the nurse practitioner .
