WAYS WE CAN HELP
This is the first time meeting between the Nurse Practitioner (NP) and the client . They can discuss the client's needs and decide if the clinic is a good fit for them. Medical history may be discussed as well as any urgent or ongoing concerns.
During this visit , the NP and client can discuss available options including medical abortion ( by pill ) , adoption and continuing the pregnancy.
Emergency contraception is also available following unprotected sex.
On site testing for sexually transmitted infections ( Syphilis, HIV, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia ). Blood work also done on site by the Nurse Practitioner.
A variety of factors can increase your risk of experiencing mental health issues. During this visit , the Nurse Practitioner and client can review any symptoms or concerns related to mental health. Strategies for improving mental health ( changes in diet and exercise , counselling etc ... ) can be discussed.
Mental health needs continued monitoring and assessment , so a follow up visit will be booked in order to review treatment and therapy effectiveness.
On this visit, we review your overall health and wellness. Your blood pressure, heart rate and breathing rate can be checked. A trauma informed physical examination can also be completed. Health and wellness related to diet, exercise, smoking, medications etc can also be reviewed.
Cancer prevention such as an assessment of skin for skin cancer, trauma informed PAP testing for those with a cervix, colon cancer assessment (where applicable), referral for mammography (where applicable).
Everyone needs to ensure that their vaccinations are up to date. Each of us at different times in life require vaccinations. This visit is to review what is needed and the required vaccinations can be administered on site.
We could see each other for a variety of reasons and something require more time together. A general follow up visit allows us to continue the conversation about your health.
It can be for a specific question, reviewing new or existing medications or to get information about improving your health!
Medication reviews are to assess the effectiveness of your medication and discuss whether the medication is meeting your expectations and maintaining a good quality of life.
